Our tropical hideaway hilltop home, shaded by lush palm trees offering a heavenly utopia.

Maliga Kanda means ‘Palace on the Hill’ and we believe it to be just that. We want the villa’s core essence to be gentle & calm helping to invoke wellness and bliss. Our aim is to invite you on an experience focused on health, fun and fitness accompanied by nourishing delicious food. We hope you will have a relaxing retreat vacation in the excellent company of your family and friends.

We have spent the last few years designing and enhancing our beautiful Maliga Kanda so that it is a perfect haven. All the furniture and fittings are sourced and hand made locally and wherever possible we have used local craftsmen and women.

We hope our home is filled with enough fun and entertainment that you can’t ever be bored, but not filled so full that you can’t relax, imagine and explore. We hope we have catered to your needs and desires.

Venturing outside of this palace you will find the vibrant colonial town of Galle around the corner as well as the bohemian beaches of south Sri Lanka, including the famous Unawatuna beach with its diverse and growing bar and restaurant scene.

Our exceptional chef/manager Shaluka will be around for any more information if needed. Should you have any bigger queries or need outside assistance please don’t hesitate to talk to our management team at Eden Villas. We are also keen to learn if there is anything that would make your stay even more fulfilling so we can continue to improve the Maliga Kanda experience.

What an extraordinary villa and team that made up our collective Maliga Kanda experience. Our group of 11 came from Australia and Canada to celebrate my 60th birthday.

Maliga Kanda really did exceed our very high expectations and made our ‘Birthday in Paradise’ dreams come true!

We enjoyed the hospitality and warmth of every team member, the beautiful design of the villa, the rejuvenating pool, and of course, the exquisite food. Shaluka, Danusha and the extended kitchen team nourished us deliciously and happily agreed to our (many!) special requests, including a welcome cocktail party of Sri Lankan ‘short eats’ and a curry feast for the birthday banquet. Susil and Kumara greeted us with the brightest smiles every morning and looked after our every need throughout the day. Kathna and Rathna were a delight, keeping our rooms pristine, caring for our clothes and having a good chuckle at some of our funny habits! Sarath and Gunawantha kept us secure and happily cleaned up our chaos every night. And the gardens are so glorious due to Samadasa’s care.

We had an architect, designers and keen gardeners in our group who were all wowed by the beauty of Maliga Kanda, and by the personal attention and care of the team. This really is the ideal location for any group of family and friends wanting to celebrate or simply connect.
